Default British Car show - Rugby, TN - Aug 22-23, 2014

Greetings all,

The Plateau British Car Club announces the August 22nd and 23rd Return of the British (cars) to Rugby, TN. Rugby, adjoining the beautiful Big South Fork National Park, is an 1880’s British village with several remaining original buildings. For more info on Rugby go to www.historicrugby.org. B&B’s are available in Rugby. See attached information. For other nearby accommodations see http://www.bigsouthfork.org/Lodging.html.

This year you will also have the opportunity to take a hike – a guided hike that is, led by National Park Ranger Howard Duncan. He will be leading and explaining things on a 2.1 mile hike. However you have the option of going only as far as the “Gentlemen’s Swimming Hole” and then returning (4/10 mile). If you plan on participating, be sure to being some hiking or good walking shoes. Either hike will be informative.

Early registration is open through August 16th and the forms and schedule are attached. They are also available at www.pbcctn.org/Rugby. Note special registration prices for British Bikes.

We hope to surpass last year’s attendance record. So register early and often.

Charlie & Pat Bunnell

Note: When looking for Rugby on a GPS mapping device or on Google Maps, use caution. Try using “Historic Rugby," and NOT "Rugby, Tennessee." (You're 22 minutes off if you go there!) Some mapping software is confused by the rerouting of Hwy. 52 last December. Now there are east & west turns off Hwy. 52 to get to Rugby a short distance from the new route.

Just a reminder that the Plateau British Car Club is holding the August 23rd (Saturday) Return of the British (cars & bikes) to Rugby, TN.

Events include free entertainment Friday evening at the Harrow Road Café and on Saturday your choice of a local drive, free mini tour of the 120+ year old buildings or a guided hike by National Park Ranger Howard Duncan. If you plan on participating, be sure to being some hiking or good walking shoes.

Early registration is open through August 16th and the forms and schedule are available at www.pbcctn.org/Rugby. Note special registration prices for British Bikes. We want the Brit Bikes to show up so let everyone you know with a Brit Bike that they need to be in Rugby.

Please share with your club members and encourage them to attend.

Thanks,
Charlie Bunnell
