Default I Can't Believe

I cannot believe that a radio console would fetch close to $600.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I've seen them go for over $800.00 on this side of the pond. That's why I've decided to pass on trying to get one. Now if I had a concours or near concours car I might feel differently but my old wreck will have to make do without. :-)

The one in the British auction was a reproduction. The originals go for alot more. The last one that I saw on this side of the pond, in an Ebay auction sold for a little less that $1100. I guess they're getting rarer and those that want them badly enough will pay for them. Lucky for me I have one repro and one real one.

Cheers!
Steve

It's true that good originals can fetch over $1K, many people have been reeproing them in the last 5 years.. i can think of 4 dififerent people who have been making them.. i would want to see one in person before spending the $ though.

Yeah, my repro came from Mal Clarke and I have to say that , although it's different from the original, it really looks the part! I've had it over 10 years and it still looks great.
Cheers!

A lot of work went into making those repro's. For all the time and effort from Mal and others, they were sold very cheaply.

Michael, It may have been around then. I moved to my present home in 2002 and details are a little fuzzy if I had it before I moved or if I got it after. You may be correct about the 2004 date. In any event, I think I paid something like $450 for it and thought it was a good value then.
Cheers!
Steve

I really like the accessory panels that match the radio. I'm gonna shoot him an email.
